We managed to stay friends for forty years, not a simple feat considering all the different places that we've settled in. I think the traveling and adventurous part in me was a mix of both my Mom's and John's natural ability and desire to discover new places. In the end, all that mattered for us though physically far apart was a long-lasting relationship of trust.
